Karan intentionally chose these women because they all are mothers, in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, supporting real causes that speak passionately to their hearts. Liya Kebede and Christy Turlington Burns are working to reduce maternal mortality in developing nations and Karolina Kurkova is involved in helping families of wounded solders.
Along with overseeing a fashion empire, Karan too, has taken an interest in the many problems that exist in other parts of the world. Through her foundation Urban Zen www.urbanzen.com and other organizations that they’ve partnered with she works to raise awareness about preserving cultures and empowering children everywhere.
