I have always heard that Pantene is not good for African American hair. Is that not true? Or has something changed? Also, can you help me understand abotu alcohol in conditioner? I have heard for years that it is not good and that makes sense. But every conditioner I pick up has alcohol in it. Please help
Hi Kiki,
Thanks for your response. Actually Pantene has a great product line for women of color that works very well.
There are plenty of conditioners that carry a plethora of alcohol that are used for various reasons to benefit each usage. Not all alcohol found in conditioners are bad for your hair they are used for a reason. For instance there is an alcohol known as fatty alcohol (from natural sources) can be used to keep the hair from feeling greasy or heavy. Unfortunately alcohol is used heavily in the cosmetics industry and can be found in lotions, creams, facial cleansers and even in food unless the manufacturer says so.
If you’re looking for a product without any alcohol I would suggest you to try using a vegan conditioner. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much Ryan for the answer. I never thought of a vegan shampoo. I will see what I can find. And I great info on the alcohol issue.
Thank you!
